cold war // Thursday 17th October

Enjoy a Specially curated 2 course meal, created especially with the film in mind.

For the screening of Cold War we head to Poland for a warming, homely dish of beef and borsch with black bread.

Borsch has a long history that travels through Europe, but was first mentioned in Polish history in the late 17th century, written by chefs catering to Polish magnates (aristocrats).

Stanisław Czerniecki, head chef to Prince Aleksander Michał Lubomirski, included several borscht recipes in his Compendium ferculorum (A Collection of Dishes), the first cookbook published originally in Polish, in 1682.

The Favourite // Thu 19th Sep

Enjoy a Specially curated 2 course meal, created especially with the film in mind.

For the screening of The Favourite we have travelled back to the 18th century for a meal made popular due to the relatively low cost of Madeira wine due to the diplomatic alliance between England and Portugal, Madeira’s ruling nation. This is the oldest alliance in the world, dating back to the Middle Ages and was strengthened over the centuries by royal marriages.
