front of house manager | FULL TIME/PERMANENT | £23k - £27k pa
The catering facility is an important element of the Museum’s commercial delivery and vital to income revenue.
The Whitaker is a former Victorian mill owner’s mansion house, housing a museum since 1902, an art gallery, a forty cover eatery, currently operational five days a week serving breakfast and lunch, and specialist evenings, meeting rooms and cocktail bar.
We are looking for a person that can take on the commercial leadership role whilst managing the ‘day to day’ as well as consolidating and building upon the foundations that have been laid. We would need you to have the organisational departmental skills in planning and delivering events including conference and banqueting.
The offer can be viewed in two parts:
• To provide a commercial infrastructure that will enable our existing offer to be customer focussed whilst putting in place the departmental infrastructure that will facilitate our projected growth.
• Secondary to be an integral part of our longer-term development plans.
We are a not for profit organisation with funding derived from our commercial activity balanced with grant allocations. The opening offer is £23-£27K with a further offer of a profit share.
