Blackburn Chamber Choir Summer Concert
Join us for a relaxed, informal evening of choral music, with one of the area’s leading chamber choirs.Grab a drink from the bar, and enjoy a mix of folk songs, traditional songs and sacred music, including some works to honour the Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
One of the region’s leading choral ensembles, Blackburn Chamber Choir, formerly the Renaissance Singers, perform regularly throughout the year, both at Blackburn Cathedral (where they are based) and further afield. The choir broadcasts regularly for the BBC and has appeared on Radio 2 and BBC 1’s Songs of Praise.
The choir’s repertoire is broad, including sacred and secular music spanning five centuries. In Christmas 2021, they performed Handel’s Messiah with a period ensemble in Blackburn Cathedral, and this Easter are performing Bach’s St John Passion with the English Touring Opera.
Arrive at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
