Elliott Flanagan: Something exotic and euro

This is Something exotic and euro
A room of exotica and euro and love and fiction
A sculpture of diary, photo-album and radio built for the viewer, reader and listener
Welcome to a worship of things lost, things one could lose
Not a straight-ahead story. Fabrication and a personal and beloved high pop culture
Big blockbuster Hollywood politics
It is all one thing, it should all be together
Elliott Flanagan opens a personal archive for you

Elliott is a text, video and sound artist based in the North West. He is currently a resident at Slack’s Radio. This installation is in conjunction with his radio show, home recording. It also features objects from The Whitaker Collection.

Elliott’s practice is currently focused on exploring different forms of writing and text-based work. His poetic work Blancmange was commissioned for A Modest Show, part of British Art Show 2022.

He has exhibited locally, nationally and internationally, at HOME, Manchester, (2021); Harris Museum, Preston (2020); SET Dalston, London (2019); Manchester Contemporary (2019); Begehungen, Chemnitz, Germany (2019); g39 Cardiff, Wales (2019); Proforma Pavilion, Venice Biennale, Italy (2019); Paradise Works, Manchester (2018); and Castlefield Gallery New Art Spaces, Manchester (2018).
