The Whitaker is committed to supporting talent in Lancashire and celebrating the success of our artists. Last month we invited submissions for an exhibition opportunity for a new arts graduate from Lancashire who graduated with an arts degree this year, 2021, to exhibit in our galleries.
In addition to the exhibition opportunity the artist receives a fee, 1-1 professional development and curatorial advice from our Creative Director, Gaynor Seville, technical support to install the exhibition and promotion via our website and social media.
Our successful graduate is artist, maker and storyteller Kerry Tenbey, who received her MA Fine Art from the University of Central Lancashire this year. Kerry’s art practice looks at social histories and folklore and uses materials and traditional ways of making to explore individual and collective identities.
