Friday Night Live Performance
Opportunities at The Whitaker

Brief and Application Procedure

The Whitaker invites submissions for live performance opportunities for regional artists for our Friday Night Live sessions in 2022. Friday Night Live sessions to take place in either our Bar & Kitchen or Old Stables Spaces.

Opportunity Details:

We want to introduce a rolling programme of performances in either our Bar & Kitchen, Old Stables or Courtyard Spaces. Every Friday evening from March 2022 we will schedule acts to perform within the museum and gallery spaces and be part of our Live Session events. Performance duration will be based upon the specifics of each artist and the theme for that evening. We are searching for a whole range of artists covering a mix of genres from acoustic musicians to bands to spoken word artists.

Eligibility:

Any professional performing artists and musicians working in all disciplines are welcome to apply.Fee to the artist: We provide fees for selected performers, in line with national guidelines.

Selection Process:

All applications will be assessed by a panel of expertise including The Whitaker staff and external expertise. The applications will be judged on the quality of the examples submitted and the best fit in regard to our venue and audiences. We also aim to ensure our programme is varied and representative of all of our community. Submissions must contain:
  • Examples of work – YouTube or other film clips, links to soundbites, website;
  • Full contact details and outline of previous performing experience;
  • Brief statement outlining your fees, usual availability, any performing requirements and any other relevant information.
