Sound & Vision – FREE Live Music & Video performance

Sound and Vision brings together live original music from two Rossendale bands with video art projections, to create a spectacular audio visual performance.
FREE EVENT - no tickets required just turn up!

Music by Dead Tenant and Uzi listening. Video Art by Liam Spencer.
🎵 Uzi listening
Fresh from their appearance at Beatherder Festival, Uzi Listening bring their unique instrumental Jazz, Prog, Krautrock Funk to the Whitaker for the first time.
Hailing from Rossendale, Uzi Listening is a five-piece instrumental powerhouse. Formed in 2012 as a response to the abundance of cover bands, they've been captivating audiences with their one-of-a-kind foreground music ever since.
“From deepest, dampest East Lancashire, music and rhythm for your lugholes and bones” As heard on Stuart Maconie’s Freak Zone on BBC Radio 6 Music.
Uzi Listening are: Jimmy Fletcher, trumpet. Geoff Senior, guitar. Gareth Cooper, keys. Pete Willets, drums. Sam H-M, bass.

🎵 Dead Tenant
Dead Tenant are a 3 piece band formed in Rossendale in 2021. Finding themselves staring into the maelstrom of post pandemic, Brexit beleaguered Britain; their response was to create songs of love and hate, hope and despair, corruption, climate catastrophe and corporate greed.
Dead Tenant play soulful, politically charged heavy Pop, with hints of Prog, Heavy Rock and Grunge.
Inspired by the likes of Radiohead, Joy Division, Talk Talk, John Martyn, Neil Young, Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd.
Live shows are an intense audio visual experience. Dancing is not unknown…..
Dead Tenant are: Scott Vicari, drums and lead vocals. Liam Spencer, guitar. Yousef Sheikh, bass.

🎥 Liam Spencer – Video Projections
In 2022 Liam Spencer created a series of video pieces for an exhibition entitled “Irwell: Afterlife. He utilised objects from the Whitaker museum, onto which he projected footage of wildlife shot in the Rossendale Valley.
These videos will be repurposed for “Sound and Vision”, along with various found footage from silent movies, old cartoons and iconic figures from Rock and Roll history.
