Film Night - Bicycle Thieves

Bicycle Thieves.jpg

Set in post war Rome, Bicycle Thieves is routinely voted one of the greatest of all time. One of the foundation stones of Italian neo-realism, this 1948 film is a simple, powerful film about a man who needs a job and has his bike stolen. Avoiding sentimentality, it is a must-see classic that has retained all of its power.

Bicycle Thieves is a brilliant, tactlessly real work of art
— Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian (*****)

Director: Vittorio De Sica. Italy. 1hr 33min.
