Calling all cyclists!! 🚴♂️🚴♀️ Bring your Bike to the Whitaker on Sunday 7th October from 11am as we officially open our new 'Cycle Hub'; A purpose built space providing essential bike tools and facilities for local cyclists of all types.
Equipped with a floor mounted air pump as well as essential bike tools enabling you to do everything from changing a tyre to tightening a loose nut. Working in conjunction with Connecting East Lancashire the new area also provides a 5 berth bike rack and a clean up facility free to local enthusiasts.
To launch the event we've asked Waterfoot police to be on hand throughout the day in the adjacent tennis courts to provide free cycle security advice and security marks*, and Go Velo will be providing FREE health checks and basic repairs for those whose wheels need some TLC.
*(Carbon fibre bikes cannot be security marked)
Thinking of buying a bike?? Try a Bike will be providing free test rides for many different bikes including electric bikes, vintage Penny Farthings and clown bikes.
Connecting East Lancashire will also be in attendance to advise on adult cycle training, bike maintenance courses, bike hire and will have local cycle maps and you will be entered into our free prize draw just for completing a survey.
And finally if you fancy a ride out, the team from Go Velo will be organising a locally led ride, with limited places, available to all, departing from The Whitaker at 12 noon.
