We don't know about you, but does anyone else think the Summer Holidays are flying by? Are you running out of ideas yet to keep the little ones entertained? Or looking for something that doesn't cost the earth to keep them busy. Then head to the Whitaker, we've got three great weeks of art activities to round off the Summer for all budding creatives to explore.
Starting from 16th August and running every Thursday and Friday until 31st there are varying sessions for all ages. Spaces will be limited so be quick to book your place for your chosen session and we look forward to welcoming you at the Whitaker.

Bugs & Bees Toddler Group // CANCELLED
Thursday 16th 1pm - 2:30pm
Friday 17th 10am - 11:30am
(2y-4y+) £2 per child
Bugs & Bees toddler group will be hosting a drop-in taster session at Whitaker Park near the bug hotel. This session is for toddlers/preschoolers. In this session the children will make a stickman, a bug house, dress and stickman and make a stickman mask as well as lots of more outdoor fun too. Turn up and pay on arrival.
PRINTING WORKSHOP (1pm - 3pm)
(4Y - 12Y) £3 PER CHILD
A great fun workshop, children will work with artist Chloe Nugent to create prints based on Rossendale. Rich with wildlife and landscapes the valley provides and excellent subject matter to inspire your creativity. You will learn a couple of printing techniques in this workshop. Please wear messy clothes for this session.
2D Cartoon Workshop (1pm to 3pm)
(9y+) £3 per child
Inspired by the Ray Lowry exhibition, that will be in the gallery area, Jackie will be introducing you to different styles of 2D cartoons, the ones that are often seen in newspapers and cartoons and helping children to create their own. Don't worry, you don't have to be a great artist to attend. Go on have a go and see whether you have the skill to make people laugh.
